Designed around the people who use it
We decide how people will operate a tool before we design its screens. It should be clear at every step, never require the same task twice, and finish in as few actions as possible.
AI & Systems — Honolulu
We examine how your work is done, identify what costs time and causes errors, and remove it with software and AI. We develop for businesses in Hawaii and Japan, in English and Japanese.
Resolution means both the detail an image can show and the act of solving a problem. Our name carries both meanings.

A case from a video production company.
The company produced about 300 wedding videos a month. Each couple’s names were stored in a database that had been checked many times over. In the editing room, however, staff retyped those names by hand into the video editing software, working from printed work orders. As a result, typing errors and mix-ups between couples kept turning up in internal checks, and every correction took considerable time.
To solve this, we developed a system that encodes the names, the ceremony date, time and venue, and the package in a QR code. Scanning the code with the built-in camera of the editing Mac creates the editing project automatically from the template for that venue. With manual entry of names eliminated, name errors from that cause disappeared, and the time spent on corrections was reduced.
A wedding video is made once in a lifetime, and a misspelled name should never happen. In this case, finding and fixing errors had depended on people checking by eye; the system removed them at the point of entry.
Effort and risk of this kind are easily overlooked inside a company as simply “the usual way of doing things.” We review your operations from an objective, outside perspective and support the improvements.
About 324 hours a year
Roughly two months of one person’s working time, or about $6,480 at around $20 an hour.
Beyond the numbers, editors were also relieved of the stress of checking every name by hand.
01
Work order
Names, date, venue and package are encoded in a QR code printed on the work order
02
Scan
The editor opens the software on the Mac and scans the code with the built-in camera
03
Automatic setup
The timeline is created from the venue’s template and the project is named
04
No manual entry
Names are never typed; they are always available to copy and paste
AI case study
A case from one company.
The company sent about 300 contracts a month, each created from the same template with the client’s name and details swapped in, then emailed. Opening the file, editing it, saving a PDF and writing the email took about 20 minutes per contract. It was too much for one person, so four people shared the work. Reminders to clients who had not replied, and checks of returned contracts, were also done by hand.
We built a system in which AI reads each client’s details, such as their application, and compiles them into a list. From that list, the contract PDF and a draft email are prepared automatically. Staff now review and send, and each contract takes about 3 minutes. Work that took four people 100 hours a month now takes about 15 hours.
Reminders are automated when there is no reply. When a contract comes back, AI compares it with the original and shows only the parts that changed, so staff check just those changes and oversights are easier to prevent. AI also checks the content for errors and inconsistencies and suggests how to handle points that need attention.
Repetitive work is left to AI, so people can focus on the decisions that need them.
1,020+ hours a year
Roughly six months of one person’s working time, or about $30,600 in labor costs at around $30 an hour.
Time spent on reminders and on checking returned contracts is not included, so the actual savings are greater.
01
AI reads
AI reads client details, such as applications, into a list
02
Automatic drafts
The contract PDF and a draft email are created from the list
03
Review and send
Staff review the content and send it
04
Reminders and returns
Reminders go out automatically; for returned contracts, AI shows only what changed
Before development begins, we review the work as it is done today.
We decide how people will operate a tool before we design its screens. It should be clear at every step, never require the same task twice, and finish in as few actions as possible.
We work in design as well as programming, so clarity and ease of use are planned together with the code.
We do not leave small inconveniences unresolved, and we fix issues that come to light after launch.
We solve the problems our clients face. Tell us what is getting in the way, and we will work out how to resolve it together.
From internal tools to services used by your customers.
We eliminate re-entry of the same information and repetitive routine tasks.
Assessment, development and operation, in that order. Anything that reaches a customer or involves money is reviewed by a person.

In daily use internally
Invoices are generated with draft emails ready to send, and payments and checks are reconciled automatically.
Our lead developer began programming at 13, self-taught, and today builds software together with AI.
We welcome inquiries about operational problems of any size.
